  • Customer describes a rotational knocking noise, the vehicle did sit parked for an extended period of time. Remove Tires and Inspect Condition of Brake System. Check for leaks, and potential issues and record brake pad depth remaining: Front ( 5 mm ) Rear ( 3 mm ). Recommend rear brake pad and rotor replacement, there is brake pad material that has bonded to the brake rotors when the rusted up from sitting.
  • BRAKE PADS – Remove & Replace – Rear, Both Sides – [Includes: Clean, lube and/or replace Brake Hardware as necessary. Adjust Brakes (where applicable). DOES NOT include refinishing.]

  • Customer stated they had the battery and alternator tested at a parts store, the parts store told them the battery was ok and it needed an alternator. Test battery. Test alternator output. Technician charged the battery and tested the entire system, the alternator is operating correctly, the battery failed both tests and is 6 years old. Also tested system for a parasitic draw, less than 20mA – good. Recommend battery replacement.

  • Customer describes a clunk or rattle when driving over bumps. Technician traced the noise to the steering column. Technician suspects the intermediate shaft is the source of the popping sound. Removed the intermediate shaft to inspect and lubricate. After installing the noise is no longer present.
